My wonderful, amazing husband Roy just bought me a new Canon Powershot G10 camera.  Amazon has it at a great price at the moment of $439.

As most of you know, I've always been a Canon camera guy.  The new G10 is going to be a replacement for my original Canon G1, which has served me faithfully for many years, but is getting a little long on the tooth as far as number of megapixels in a photo.

My primary camera will remain my Canon 40D SLR, but the G10 will be my everyday camera that I take with me just about everywhere.  It's compact in size and will give me many of the same features and benefits of it's larger SLR cousin. 

The main feature I love about the G series of cameras from Canon is the ability to use Canon system flashes (and their compatible offspring from other manufacturers).  It can also be used my my studio flash equipment fairly easily.

If you're in the market for a new digital camera and want some of the high-end features of an SLR, but without the expense, I think you should put the Canon Powershot G10 at the top of your shopping list.
