I bought myself a new Verizon MiFi wireless modem to use at work this week.  Setting it up to connect to my Asus 1000HE was simple and now I can cruise the internet while at work using my personal machine instead of my work machine.

It's great for reading my RSS feeds, and well as checking my personal e-mail and my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Yesterday was my first day back at work after being out for almost 3 months.  To be honest, I really didn't want to go back just yet, but the doctor released me for work so I had to head back.

The day went pretty well.  I did have some problems with back pain and I was pretty tired after about 6 hours, but recovered a bit after I got back home.

Today, I started out feeling light-headed because of one of the heart medications, but that has passed.  Unfortunately, I'm really having problems with back pain again.  I need to make an appointment with the pain specialist for follow-up and to see if I need to increase or switch medications.

I ended up leaving early because the combination of the heart meds and my hydrocodone was kicking my ass.  I need to really be careful about taking the hydrocodone if my blood pressure gets too low.

I'm buying a new netbook for use while I'm at work.  I currently have an Asus PC900, which has the 8.9" display.  I'm buying an Asus 1000 HE, which has the 10.1" display and a slightly larger keyboard.  I found that I had to use an external keyboard with the PC900.  Roy will be taking over the smaller Asus for when he travels and only needs to check e-mail and surf the web.

Unfortunately, I can't find the 1000 HE with just Linux installed instead of Windows XP.  The first thing I'm going to do when I get it is replace XP with Windows 7 RC on one partition and Ubuntu Linux on another.  My primary OS will be Ubuntu, with Windows used for remote photography purposes.

I'm into day 3 of the new medication.  I'm having to slowly increase my dosage each day until I reach the desired dosage of 2 pills 3 times a day.

I can certainly see why they gradually increase the dosage. It has some serious side effects, but the one I have been experiencing is dizziness and difficulty thinking.  They should gradually decrease over time, so we'll have to see how that goes before a final decision is made as to whether this is the right medication for me or not. It certainly seems to be helping with alleviating the pain, so that's a good sign.

Something rather interesting happened this afternoon at work. Turns out one of the guys who I have the hots for at work just may have the hots for me as well.  While it's nice to know, it also presents a problem.  We don't work in the same department and we don't work together in any capacity, but do you take the risk of doing something about the mutual attraction when you work for the same company, or not?

Oh, and did I mention that he's probably about half my age and into daddies?  So, do I take the risk of flirting with him when it seems pretty obvious that he'd flirt back or just leave everything alone?  I'll have to see if he'll let me take a photograph of him.

Of course, I could be misreading the whole situation. It wouldn't be the first time.
